Shooting victim ran to mosque for help

(AP) —Indianapolis Police say they are searching for a gunman after a man was shot in the leg and ran to a mosque to seek help.

The shooting occurred Sunday morning on the northeast side of the city. Police spokesman Richard Riddle tells The Associated Press the victim sought help at a mosque and was taken to a hospital “talking and alert.”

Riddle says the mosque “just happened to be across the street from a crime scene” and has nothing to do with the crime other than people there called for help.
