Local Man Killed In Tragic Vehicle Accident

Tragedy struck the Village of Lomira last week as a man was killed while working on a vehicle at his home. On August 28 around 1 p.m., the Lomira Police Department was dispatched to the 900 block of Third Street after a report came in about a man trapped under a vehicle.

Tragedy struck the Village of Lomira last week as a man was killed while working on a vehicle at his home. On August 28 around 1 p.m., the Lomira Police Department was dispatched to the 900 block of Third Street after a report came in about a man trapped under a vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers found the 61-year-old man trapped after the vehicle rolled onto him while he was working on it. Lomira Police Chief Bryan Frank said efforts were made to save the man, but the injuries were too severe.

“Life-saving measures were performed at the scene, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene,” Frank said during the village board meeting later that night on August 28. Any additional questions or information can be sent to Chief Frank.

Assisting the LPD on scene was the Brownsville Police Department, Lomira Fire Department and first responders, Theresa Ambulance, Fond du Lac paramedics, Flight for Life, Fleischmann Excavating, Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and the Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office.
