It is the biggest awards ceremony for the small screen.
And on Monday, stars including Heidi Klum and Laura Prepon couldn't resist documenting their day of the Emmy Awards early, by posting snaps of themselves getting ready.
At first, Heidi made sure she didn't spoil the big reveal of her outfit, instead covering herself in what appeared to be a white bed-sheet.

Be a style hero in a cape back dress like Heidi's
Zac Posen red cape back gown
We haven't had time to get over the glamour of last night's MTV Video Music Awards yet, but here we go again...
This time it's Emmys night, an awards show that demands a dramatic dress. And as the first celebrity arrival, Heidi Klum has not let us down. She rocked up to the red carpet on the arm of designer Zac Posen, her friend and fellow judge on Project Runway. So it was really no surprise to see that she was wearing one of his creations, which she teamed with tousled tresses and jewellery by Lorraine Schwartz.
Posen's dreamy dresses are always a firm fixture on nights like these and it's not hard to see why. We love the well cut cape back of this dress, as well as the subtle train. And Heidi has clearly chosen a hot hue for this evening, as actress Minnie Driver and Fashion Police officer Giuliana Rancic opted to match the red carpet too!
This one is from the Resort 2014 collection so isn't available to us mere mortals just yet. But if you're feeling flush, there's a rather gorgeous red Zac Posen dress at The Outnet. Otherwise, the high street is already stocking up on awards season dresses, so head to Topshop, Asos and AQ/AQ for our favourites.* PRICES MAY NOT BE AS ADVERTISED ...NOW GET ONE LIKE IT
Glitz and glamor: Heidi shows off her selection of Emmys bling as she poses with her pals
Freeze! Fashion Police star Kelly Osbourne posted this warm-up picture of herself with George Kotsiopoulos and Guiliana Rancic on the red carpet
As well as the glitz and the glamour of the event, there will also be a poignant appearance from Billy Crystal, who whill honour Robin Williams.
The 66-year-old comedian will lead tributes to his longtime friend, who was found dead at his home in Tiburon, California on August 11, during a special segment at the 66th annual ceremony in Los Angeles tonight.
Executive producer of the star-studded ceremony Don Mischer confirmed the news, saying: 'We felt we needed to do something powerful and memorable. Billy seemed like the perfect choice.'

They also regularly presented televised Comic Relief specials, alongside Whoopi Goldberg, in the US to raise money for the homeless.
Let's hope this is the before! Actress Mayim Bialik joined in on the fun posting a photo of getting her hair done
Shortly after news of the Oscar winner's death broke, Billy alluded to his heartbreak on Twitter, simply writing: 'No words.'
